Position Summary:

StoneMill is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Interior Designer & Cabinetry Specialist to lead both homebuyer interior selections and cabinetry design + sales. This role blends design expertise, client experience, and project coordination, playing a key part in delivering a seamless and elevated customer experience.

You will work directly with homeowners, guiding them through interior selections for new builds while also growing our cabinetry and interior materials business through design, sales, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architectural Drafting & Design

  • Develop complete sets of construction documents (floor plans, elevations, sections, and details) using Autodesk Revit.

  • Refine and update existing "stock" plans to improve buildability, liveability and aesthetic appeal.

  • Incorporate redlines and feedback from the construction team to ensure plans reflect real-world building practices.

2. Custom Plan Modifications

  • Work with the design team to adapt standard plans to meet specific homebuyer requests or site-specific requirements.

  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning requirements, and company standards.

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy to minimize errors during the construction phase.

3. Project Coordination & Growth

  • Assist in developing and refining new home models to make StoneMill’s portfolio even more professional.

  • Organize and maintain digital project files and version controls for all designs.

  • Provide design services for third parties.

  • Create detailed specifications for contract and construction documentation.

Qualifications

Required

  • High attention to detail: You spot the small errors before they become big problems on the job site.

  • Technical Aptitude: Strong computer skills and the ability to learn complex design software (Revit!) quickly.

  • Organizational Ability: Capacity to manage multiple sets of plans simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

  • Communication: Ability to take direction from lead designers and translate concepts into technical drawings.

Preferred

  • Experience with Autodesk Revit or similar BIM/CAD software.

  • General knowledge of residential construction methods, framing, and building codes.

  • A background in architecture, drafting, construction, or a related trade.

Key Traits for Success

  • Process-Driven: You enjoy creating systems that make work more efficient.

  • Eager to Learn: You have a "student" mindset and are open to on-site training and feedback.

  • Problem Solver: You don’t just draw lines; you think about how the house actually goes together.

Why This Role Matters

This position develops every detail for our projects. By producing accurate, high-quality Revit models, you directly impact the speed of construction, the reduction of waste, and the overall satisfaction of our homeowners.
