From raw dirt to finished homes, we rely on a mechanic to keep our tools and equipment running smoothly. We’re looking for a new Mechanic to help us set new standards in our growing community.

Position Summary:

The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role minimizes operational downtime through routine preventive maintenance, precise mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and timely repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostics & Maintenance

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fluid flushes, filter replacements, and system tune-ups.

  • Use diagnostic software, pressure gauges, and physical testing to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

  • Conduct comprehensive safety inspections on vehicles, heavy machinery, and trailers to identify component wear or damage.

Repairs & System Overhauls

  • Repair or replace defective parts across engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering, suspensions, and exhaust.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild hydraulic pumps, cylinders, control valves, and electrical wiring harnesses.

  • Perform basic welding, torch cutting, and metal fabrication to repair structural frames and equipment attachments.

Shop Safety & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate work orders, detailing completed repairs, parts utilized, and labor hours spent.

  • Ensure all shop tools, hoist equipment, and diagnostic tools are clean, safe, and properly calibrated.

  • Manage a equipment catalog that records and tracks all company-owned tools and equipment.

  • Strictly adhere to OSHA and EPA standards for handling hazardous fluids, heavy lifting, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

  • 2–5+ years of hands-on experience as a technician working on diesel engines, automotive systems, or heavy equipment.

  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical (12V/24V), powertrain, and air brake systems.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, shop machinery, welding/cutting tools, and precision measuring instruments.

  • High school diploma or GED; vocational/trade school degree in Diesel or Automotive Technology a plus.

  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation (required).

  • Ability to perform manual labor, bend, crawl, and work in tight or awkward spaces for extended periods.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams.

  • Provide a standard professional mechanic's tool set suitable for daily shop duties.

Expected Compensation

$25-$33/hour + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on individual factors including experience, skills, resources and knowledge. The total compensation package may also include other elements dependent on the situation and details will be provided if you receive an offer of employment.
