Position Summary:

StoneMill is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Interior Designer & Cabinetry Specialist to lead both homebuyer interior selections and cabinetry design + sales. This role blends design expertise, client experience, and project coordination, playing a key part in delivering a seamless and elevated customer experience.

You will work directly with homeowners, guiding them through interior selections for new builds while also growing our cabinetry and interior materials business through design, sales, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Home Build Interior Design (Client Experience)

  • Meet with homebuilding clients to guide and finalize all interior selections

  • Educate customers on available materials, finishes, and upgrade options

  • Maintain deep knowledge of all StoneMill standard options and upgrades

  • Ensure selections align with construction timelines and budgets

  • Document and communicate all selections clearly to internal teams

2. Cabinetry Design & Sales (Primary Revenue Driver)

  • Meet with customers (homeowners, builders, and retail clients)

  • Conduct site visits and take accurate field measurements

  • Design cabinetry layouts using Autodesk Revit

  • Develop functional, aesthetic, and cost-effective kitchen and cabinetry designs

  • Build detailed quotes using company pricing/catalog systems

  • Present designs and proposals to customers and close sales

  • Maintain strong product knowledge of cabinetry lines (training provided)

3. Order Management & Customer Coordination

  • Place and manage cabinetry and material orders

  • Track order status and proactively communicate updates to customers

  • Coordinate delivery logistics with customers and delivery teams

  • Ensure accuracy from design → order → delivery → install

  • Resolve issues quickly to maintain a high-quality customer experience

4. Interior Material Add-On Services

Manage additional interior packages tied to cabinetry projects:

Countertops

  • Quote, order, and coordinate templating

  • Schedule fabrication and installation

  • Manage vendor communication and timelines

Flooring

  • Quote materials and labor

  • Coordinate ordering, delivery, and installation

  • Align selections with overall interior design vision

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills

  • High attention to detail and organizational ability

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Sales mindset with ability to close and upsell

  • Basic proficiency in design software (or willingness to learn quickly)

Preferred

  • Experience in interior design, cabinetry design, or residential construction

  • Experience with Autodesk Revit or similar CAD/BIM tools

  • Knowledge of cabinetry systems, materials, and interior finishes

  • Experience with quoting, estimating, or project coordination

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

After 6 months employment:

Paid holidays (New Year's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas)

Expected Compensation:

$20-$30/hour + cash awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on individual factors including experience, skills, certifications, and qualifications. The total compensation package may also include other elements dependent on the situation and details will be provided if you receive an offer of employment.
